As part of MACS 2030’s Flourishing Learners strategic pillar, MACS is committed to providing schools with equitable access to high-quality assessment resources, and, as such is collaborating with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) on a system-wide licence that will enable school access to the Progressive Achievement Test (PAT) assessment suite.
The system licence will be available for all MACS primary and secondary schools, providing a whole-system approach to PAT assessment and supporting teaching excellence through standardised benchmarked assessment. Additionally, MACS will have access to the Online Assessment and Reporting System (OARS), providing the opportunity to evaluate trends in achievement, and to direct targeted support and resources for schools.
MACS has negotiated system discount making use of the economies of scale of a large system, and ensuring that schools will have equitable access to Maths, Literacy and Wellbeing instruments, as well as the Teacher Resource Centre. In the meantime, schools are expected to renew existing licenses as usual, noting that pro-rata reimbursements will be provided in the future.
